The desert and the Arab world in general are currently one of the most popular destinations with Catalan travellers. Their scenery, customs, people and history attract ever-increasing numbers of visitors, and at the last edition of the Tourism Show they were also be showcased in a new exhibition area.

The Porta del Desert is a space of almost 3,000 m2 housing a host of unconventional agencies, boutique hotels, riads and desert adventure organisers, complemented by areas for tasting typical products, a chill-out zone and activities: belly dancing, exhibition of desert paintings, buena Ruta travel agency, henna tattoos, fakirs, acrobats, live music, contortionists, ...
